August's PS Plus Essential brings Dying Light 2, Big Walk and Signalis

Sony has unveiled the August 2026 PlayStation Plus Monthly Games. There are three titles with very different profiles: the open world of zombies of Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition, the cooperative Big Walk and the survival horror Signalis. All are available for redemption from Tuesday, August 4 through Monday, August 31.

It is worth remembering as always: rescuing is not the same as downloading. Just add the games to the library within the window to keep them while the subscription is active — the download can be left for later.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition (PS5 and PS4)

The highlight of the month is the most robust. Dying Light 2 places the player in a city overrun by infected, and its central idea remains movement: parkour to cross rooftops, improvised melee combat and a day and night cycle that changes the game completely — by day the risk is on the streets, by night the whole city becomes hunted.

The Reloaded Edition brings together the updates Techland has delivered since the 2022 release, including the rework to the combat system and the content additions from the period. It's the most complete version of the game so far, and the one that most justifies the month for those who have never been into it.

Big Walk (PS5)

Big Walk is the most curious of the group. It comes from House House, the Australian studio of Untitled Goose Game, and maintains the house's taste for the experiment: it is a cooperative in which the group explores a large outdoor area solving puzzles — with the particularity that communication between players goes through a handful of tools, and not direct conversation.

It's the kind of game that yields little alone and a lot with friends. It is also the only one of the three PS5 exclusives.

Signalis (PS4)

Signalis closes the list on the authorial side. Released in 2022, it's a survival horror that takes on the heritage of Resident Evil and 1990s Silent Hill without disguise: fixed cameras, tight inventory, environmental puzzles, and the constant decision between spending ammo or running away.

The player controls Elster, a technical Replika who awakens looking for her missing partner, in a retrofuturistic pixel art scenario that pulls more towards cosmic horror than fright. It's a well-deserved cult game, and probably the easiest to finish in a weekend.

The bonus: MARVEL Tōkon

In addition to the three games, Sony will release the MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls PlayStation Plus Pack starting August 6, 2026. The package is available to subscribers for one year, until August 6, 2027 — a much longer period than the monthly games.

Summary

  • Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition — PS5 and PS4

  • Big Walk — PS5

  • Signalis — PS4

  • Redemption: August 4 to August 31, 2026

  • Bonus: MARVEL Tōkon Pack, starting August 6

A note about the plans: these are the Monthly Games, which reach all subscribers, including Essential. The Extra and Premium game catalogs are announced separately, later in the middle of the month.
